If you are up for it, you may complete lawn care and snow removal on your own. You will be asked to upload photos of your equipment, such as lawn mower, lawn trimmer, edger, sprinkler, tree trimmer, seed spreader, ladder, and snow shovel.

Homes Assist Property Care Package

If exterior work and lawn care isn’t for you, our residents can keep the outside looking great, while we do the dirty work for you. Only $249 per month for all the services below!

If lawn care isn’t for you, our residents can keep the yard looking great, while we do the dirty work. Our professionals will mow and trim your lawn each week during the summer months.

Lawn Trimming

After mowing, all the areas along fences and landscaping, around trees, and against the home need to be trimmed. Our team will tackle this, so you don't have to.

City ordinance requires proper lawn care and snow removal. Avoid costly fines by letting our team take this off your plate.

Do It Yourself

If you are up for it, you may choose to complete lawn care and snow removal on your own. Below is a list of minimum expectations if you choose to atke care of exterior and lawn care on your own.

Lawn Care

  • Grass needs a lot of water to stay healthy and green. Maintain a watering routine of three times a week for 20 minutes.


  • Before starting to mow, pick up any garbage and sticks and rake and bag piles of leaves. This will keep your lawn growing and your lawn mower in good condition. In the fall months, leaves will need to be raked and bagged a few times each month.


  • Make sure to mow your lawn at a minimum every week. Set the cutting height on your mower to 2.5 inches.


  • For an amazing look to your lawn, mow the lawn in a diagonal pattern, alternating the angle each week.


  • Using a grass trimmer, carefully trim all perimeters of the grass that you can't get with the mower, such as fence lines, landscaping edges, around the house, and sidewalk edges.


  • Edge all hard surfaces with a hard edger to get a crisp look to the lawn.


  • When you are finished mowing and trimming your lawn, blow or sweep all hard surfaces to remove grass clippings.

Weed Control / Yard Maintenance

  • To keep your lawn looking great and to prevent the spreading of weeds, make sure to pull weeds in the lawn and then spray those weeds with a lawn-safe weed killer.


  • Pull any weeds from the landscaping and in the cracks of cement, then spray those areas with lawn-safe weed killer.


  • In addition to keeping landscaping free of weeds, make sure to clean out any dead foliage from plants. This will extend the life of the plants.


  • Using a hand or electric hedger, keep all hedges and plants looking sharp by maintaining a refined shape.


  • Make sure to fertilize the lawn monthly, during the summer, and aerate and overseed the lawn in the spring and fall. We recommend contracting with a company to accomplish this.

Exterior Maintenance

  • Gutters need to be free of leaves to keep water flowing. If you notice any issues that may be too challenging for you to take care of, please contact us.


  • Keep water out of your basement by making sure downspouts are free of debris and always attached.


  • Clean leaves and garbage from the vents of your exterior air conditioner unit. This will increase the efficiency of your air conditioner and lower your electricity costs.


  • Avoid fire hazards by cleaning the exterior dryer vent at least one per month. Using a soft broom, brush the dust and cobwebs off the exterior of your home to keep the outside looking great and insects away.


  • Keep all personal items, other than lawn furniture, stored in your garage. This will make your property look sharp and your neighbors happy.

Avoid Fines

  • Did you know there is a city code that garbage cans can only be visible on garbage day? Avoid a potential city fine by keeping your garbage cans in your garage when it isn't garbage day.


  • In winter months, snow and ice must be cleared from sidewalks at all times. Avoid a fine or liability issues by keeping snow off your sidewalk, driveway, and step and regularly use cement-safe ice salt.


  • The city provides a wonderful phone app, called OneLink Report-It to help neighbors keep the community looking great. If you notice anything in your area that isn't being maintained, take a moment to share the concern with the city.


  • In the event that the steps above haven't been completed and our team or the city provides a warning, there will be a service charge to correct the issue with no additional warning.

We offer three great options for taking care of the exterior of your property!


1.  We automatically enroll you in the Home Assist Property Care Package. By staying enrolled, our team will take the exterior property chores off your plate and you will avoid any charges that may be assessed for not completing these required responsibilities. Plus, because we bundle services and offer monthly packages, you will save money and be able to spread the cost over the year! Read More Here.


2.  You may choose to hire a licensed and bonded lawn care and snow removal service. You will be asked to upload a copy of your service agreement for lawn care and snow removal, prior to move-in. 


3. If you are up for it, you may choose to complete lawn care and snow removal on your own. Prior to moving in, you will be asked to upload photos of your lawn care equipment, including:

  • Lawnmower
  • Lawn trimmer
  • Edger
  • Sprinkler
  • Tree trimmer
  • Fertilizer/seed spreader
  • 6-foot ladder
  • Snow shovel


*If you do not upload photos of a contract or all the equipment in the form below, you will not be opted out.


*Do not submit the form below without including a contract with a vendor or photos of ALL the lawn equipment in the list above.


Responsibilities required by the resident or a contractor include, but are not limited to:

  • Weekly Lawn Mowing
  • Weekly Lawn Trimming
  • Weed Control
  • Landscape Clean-Up
  • Lawn Fertilization & Spraying
  • Brush and Tree Trimming
  • Overseeding
  • First-Floor Gutter Cleaning
  • Storm Cleanup
  • Snow Removal (within 24 hours of snowfall)
  • Ice Salt


By signing, you understand and agree that failure to comply with the above-mentioned terms and maintenance duties may result in you being held responsible for fines and/or costs to maintain the property without notice, and automatic enrollment in the Home Assist Property Care, Lawn Care, and Snow Removal Packages. If you do not upload photos of a contract or all the equipment in the form below, you will not be opted out.
